About & Milestones
Maria had parents, though little is known about them beyond their names and years of passing.
Maria was born in a small village in the heart of Transylvania, before the start of WWII. She has seen the world change before her eyes: the coming of the war, becoming a refugee, surviving the communist regime in Romania, the Revolution and now, the modern digital society. Throughout it all she kept her smile, her optimism and her love for people.

Question 1: Maria is a very warm and optimist person, always ready to listen and give a helping hand. The hardships of her life only made her stronger.
Question 2: She has an extraordinary memory and always tells stories about the times when she was a refugee. It is amazing that despite all the terrible things she has endured, she kept her perspective and forgave everyone who wronged her and her family.
Question 3: Maria is famous in the family for her quirky humor. She always jokes about how one “should not be more catholic than the Pope”, and challenges people’s versions of truth, when she notices a mismatch. She hates glasses and boasts that everyone in her family had perfect
eyesight until they got to 100 years old.
Question 4: I would have loved to travel once again on the path she took as a child refugee through Romania. That trip shaped her, and I would have liked to go again together. Also, we like to look at old photos and talk about the people there, as well as listen to old Romanian folk
songs together.
